Lesson learned. For the amount of money this side trip cost us It was definitely not worth it. We could have easily gotten there on our own with the train and bought tickets to the museum that day. The lunch that was provided was awful..you will do better on your own. They took us on a bus ride around the perimeters of Florence when we arrived for 1.5 hours which clearly was a time waster for them and it was not informative or interesting. Do this side trip from Rome on your own...it is doable and will be way less expensive!

There is nothing like getting to Florence from Rome in just over an hour. Florence is stunning and this tour provided a great balance of organized touring and free time. It was just enough to make us want to return and explore this amazing city even more.
